Common Core Standards and Quantile Measures

State Consortia | Departments of Education | Educators | Test Publishers | Resource Publishers

The Common Core State Standards for Mathematics stress both procedural skill and conceptual understanding to prepare students for the challenges of their postsecondary pursuits. By calibrating mathematics textbooks and other resources with The Quantile® Framework for Mathematics, educators can harness the real power of Quantile measures: differentiating instruction and forecasting understanding. Educators can use the free Textbook Search to find specific lessons that match student readiness. These resources then enable students to practice mathematics with materials that relate to the identified lesson in order to strengthen their skills and their confidence.

The Quantile Framework allows third-party mathematics products to better support state curriculums, by anchoring instruction to the state’s specific standards. Because the Quantile scale is developmental in nature, it facilitates products and instructional materials as an indicator of mathematical growth within a school year. The Quantile measures of mathematical skills and concepts help to inform publishers and product companies as they develop appropriate materials to address intervention methods, enrichment strategies and classroom support.
